Wonders of Will County – Lockport Prairie Nature Preserve

On these naturalist-led hikes, discover the plants, animals and land formations that make up some of our most protected sites. Meet the Wonders of Will County in Lockport Prairie Nature Preserve. As one of the last remaining dolomite prairies left in the world, it is home to endangered and rare species of the four-legged, six-legged and root-legged variety!
Fee: Free! Age: Ages 10 and older. Registration required by Thursday, July 18, by calling 815-722-9301 or online.
This hike will be no longer than 1.5 miles and take place on natural and crushed limestone surfaces. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
