Firefly Glow Hike & Campfire

Independence Day may be over, but Mother Nature is bringing her own bright explosions to a preserve near you — fireflies! Become immersed in nature at night and experience the bright magic of these beautiful beetles. Discover the science behind these staples of summer and craft a glowing creation of your own! Once the stage is set, take a short hike and seek out this incredible insect for a closer look! End the night by the light of a campfire and roast a tasty marshmallow.

The program will meet at the Hickory Hollow Shelter at Hickory Creek Preserve — LaPorte Road Access.
The hike will be approximately 1 mile hike on uneven terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
