Backpacking Part 1: Introduction to Backpacking

Have you always wanted to go backpacking but were intimidated by the process? Join a naturalist in this three-part series to learn the basics of backpacking. How to select a sleeping bag? What food to pack? How to choose a location? In this first of the series, participants will learn how to prepare and plan for a weekend backpacking trip. Check out some of the supplies you will need and may want to make your adventure a success!

Previous experience and equipment are not required for this program but may be necessary for the upcoming programs in the series. Four Rivers is an accessible facility. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
