Firefly Hike for Families

Come out to enjoy nature’s fireworks — those blinking, twinkling fireflies!
As the sun sets, learn what makes fireflies so special. Surprise — it’s more than just their glow! Create some glow of your own before heading out for a hike to get up close to the twinkling show.
Fee: Free! Age: All ages. Registration is required by Tuesday, July 23, by calling 708-946-2216 or online.
Meet at the Goodenow Grove Campground. The hike will be 1 mile to 1.5 miles long on natural surface trails over uneven terrain. There are two points on the trail with a steep elevation change. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online no later than 48 hours before the program.
