Think & Drink: Native American History & Culture in Illinois

August 13 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Our next Think & Drink continues our special America at 250 series with a presentation by Dr. Dorene Wiese, a lifelong educator, cultural advocate, and enrolled member of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe–White Earth.

As the nation reflects on 250 years of American history, this program invites us to consider the Native communities whose histories, cultures, and continuing contributions are essential to the larger story of Illinois and the United States.

Dr. Wiese will explore Native American history and culture in Illinois, including tribal histories, urban Native communities, storytelling, music, dance, art, and the importance of cultural respect and understanding today.

Admission is free, but registration is appreciated.
