After last week’s storms forced us to cancel, we’re happy to share a quick reminder that our Think & Drink with artist and designer John McDavitt has been rescheduled.

John’s colorful Route 66 bench, LOL: Lots of Lincolns, is now on display outside the Gaylord Building as part of Lockport’s Route 66 100th Anniversary Bench Walk. In this fun, all-ages presentation, John will explore the creative process, showing how artists develop ideas, solve problems, and bring a project from concept to finished work. He’ll also discuss his own artistic career, including his work on our Route 66 bench, LOL (“Lots of Lincolns”), and what it takes to create public art that connects with a community.

This program is a perfect companion to Lockport’s Route 66 celebration, which features artist-painted benches throughout downtown. Stop by to see our bench, then join us for a closer look at the imagination, planning, and persistence that goes into the creative process.
