St. Matthew’s Living Cemetery Walk

Step beyond the gates of St. Matthew’s Cemetery and into the pages of Lemont’s history. Join the Lemont Area Historical Society for an unforgettable journey through the past as the voices of long-ago residents echo once again among the historic gravestones.

Along the way, volunteers from the area will portray some of the cemetery’s most fascinating citizens, bringing their stories to life through dramatic first-person presentations. Meet pioneers, business owners, veterans, and community leaders as they share tales of ambition, hardship, triumph, and resilience from the very place where they now rest. Free event.
