for an entertaining evening at the beautiful, historic Public Landing Restaurant in Lockport, IL, with National Park Ranger Sue Bennett and her presentation Pullman: 125 Years After the Strike.
The local Pullman strike in the summer of 1894 was embraced by the newly formed American Railway Union, and became a national boycott that crippled commerce and transportation. What lingering lessons still impact the main players (business, workers, regulators and media) today? Join us for conversation about what happened to the town of Pullman, it’s workers and the company. Hear an update on the most recent progress in the development of Pullman National Monument.
Hosted by the Canal Corridor Association and Pullman National Monument, this dinner lecture series provides an opportunity to introduce participants to local and regional history topics during a relaxed and enjoyable evening.
