DESCRIPTION:Annual Spring Clean-Up \n\n\nClaim Your Section Of The Canal Trails! \nThe Illinois and Michigan Canal State Trail is 62 miles from Rockdale (Joliet) to LaSalle and is a popular recreational trail utilized by hikers\, bikers\, and joggers. After the long winter\, debris and litter descend upon the trail and banks of the canal\, and\, as an advocate for the I&M Canal National Heritage Area\, we organize clean-ups to beautify the surroundings. \nOur annual I&M Canal Spring Clean-Up is held the third week of April around Earth Day. To participate: \n\nGrab your friends\, family\, co-workers\, etc. and form a group.\nChoose a date that works best for you\nEmail Mara Moore at programs@iandmcanal.org to coordinate with her on claiming a section of the canal to clean.\nThen come on out and clean the canal!\n\nWe start taking reservations at the beginning of the year and until we run out of sections. \n\n\n

Tom Koys for an overnight bike trip from Morris to Starved Rock.\n\n\nDepart from Morris at 10 am on August 24th\n\n\nCars to be parked overnight at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris\n\n\nTravel via I&M Canal Trail\n\n\nDistance is 34 miles one way from Morris to Starved Rock Lodge\n\n\nDine at Starved Rock Lodge Restaurant on August 24 at 6 pm\n\n\nDepart from Starved Rock at 10 am on August 25 for return trip\n\n\nParticipants need to sign a waiver for themselves and any minors present prior to the bike ride\n\n\nReservations at Starved Rock Resort are to be made by participants\n\n\nCall Starved Rock Lodge reservations at (815) 457-9529 to reserve a room\n\n\nReserve a room as early as possible because rooms may fill up\n\n\nHotel cancellations can be accepted up to 72 hours beforehand in case of bad weather\n\n\nOur tour guide leader will be Father Thomas Koys from St. James at Sag Bridge\n\n\nContact:\nJohn Zabinski at (630)747-8439 for further info.
