SUMMARY:"Lucky Chucky" Tour: Life Inside Old Joliet Prison
DESCRIPTION:Charles “Lucky Chucky” Hojnacki was once incarcerated at Old Joliet Prison. \nLike many who were once incarcerated\, Hojnacki worked hard to turn his life following a youth defined by gang activity\, arrests and incarceration. Following a near-death experience in drug deal gone bad\, he vowed not only to never return to prison\, but to keep others from returning. \nFollowing his own educational path to become a certified machinist\, Hojnacki began encouraging others – especially young offenders – to break their own cycles by embarking on GED courses and vocational training. As a result of his efforts to assist fellow incarcerated individuals with employment opportunities\, he received an Individual Achievement Award from the State of Illinois. \n Cost: $30 General Public/$20 JAHM Members.  Go to: jolietprison.org/events. \nParking: Old Joliet Prison parking lot. \nWear your walking shoes! This tour takes about 90 minutes. Guests can expect to walk about 1.5 miles. \n
