Join us on Thursday July 27th for Junior Ranger day in the Illinois & Michigan Canal National Heritage Area!
Park Ranger Bill Smith will be at the Lock 16 Visitor Center, 754 First Street LaSalle, IL, this summer to answer your questions about the National Parks and deputize Junior Rangers.
The National Park Service Junior Ranger program is an activity based program conducted in almost all National Parks & National Heritage Areas. This program offers young visitors the opportunity to join the National Park Service “family” as Junior Rangers. Kids, visit us to complete a series of activities, share their answers with the park ranger, and receive an official Junior Ranger patch and Junior Ranger certificate.

Bring the kids out and complete a junior ranger booklet filled with activities, take the Junior Ranger pledge, and become a Junior Ranger by exploring, learning and protecting our national treasures!
Ranger Smith will be available from 10am – 2pm for pictures, questions, and fun activities for Jr. Rangers!
The I&M Canal Boat will be half priced for all kids.Â
