How to Participate in The Passport Program?

  • At each passport stop participants visit they receive a stamp in their passport booklet. Stamps can be collected from July 1 to November 30, 2018.
  • Participants then turn in their stamped passports to receive prizes.
  • There is no fee to participate in the Illinois Bicentennial Passport program. There is no purchase necessary to receive passport stamps at the passport stops.
  • Passport participants can visit as many stops as they wish, one stop or all of them.
  • Participants must be age 6 or older to receive stamps from passport stops.

How Does Collecting Passport Stamps Work?

  • Participants visit any of the passport stop locations listed in the passport booklet to collect stamps.
  • To receive your stamp, simply enter the passport stop and let the staff members know you are a passport participant. There is no purchase necessary to receive your stamp. After you receive your stamp, the passport stops will invite you to experience all that they have to offer.
  • Passport holders must be present to receive a stamp from a passport stop. No passports will be stamped for participants not present.

What to Do if a Passport Stop is Closed?

  • It is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to plan your passport stop visits during the business hours listed in the passport booklet.

How Long Do I Have to Collect Passport Stamps?

  • Passport stamps can be collected from July 1 until November 30, 2018.

What Are the Participation Prizes for Collecting Passport Stamps?

There are three levels of participation prizes for collecting passport stamps.  The prizes are cumulative. For example, if you collect all 56 stamps, you will receive all three prizes.

  • Collect 20 Stamps Level I Prize – Official 2018 Illinois Bicentennial Sticker
  • Collect 35 Stamps Level II Prize – One Mule-Pulled Boat Ride on the I and M Canal
  • Collect 56 Stamps Level III Prize – Official 2018 Illinois Bicentennial Lapel Pin and name listed on the Illinois Bicentennial Website as a “Bicentennial All Star.”

Can More Than One Person In A Household Collect Passport Stamps?

  • Yes, persons from one household can collect stamps in each person’s own passport booklet. Stamps from booklets may not be combined.  Each person must have their own booklet to be eligible for prizes.

How Are Passport Prizes Distributed?

  • Persons who collect a minimum of 20 unique passport stop stamps are eligible for prizes. Persons who collect a minimum of 35 stamps are eligible for two prizes. Persons who collect all 56 stamps are eligible for three prizes and to have their name and city listed on the Illinois Bicentennial website illinois200.com as a Passport All Star.

Where Can I Pick Up Passport Booklets?

  • Passports may be picked up for free at any of the passport stop locations or at the list of participating Illinois Tourism Offices and Illinois Convention and Visitors Bureaus.

Official Rules for Illinois Bicentennial Passport Program

OFFICIAL RULES: By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be binding and final as to all matters related to the Illinois Bicentennial Passport Program.  The Illinois Bicentennial Passport Program is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.

TIMING: The Illinois Bicentennial Passport Program begins at 6:00 a.m. (CT) on Sunday, July 1, 2018 and ends at 6:00 p.m. (CT) on Friday, November 30, 2018 (“Passport Program Period”).  The deadline for receipt of Passport postmark is Monday, December 3, 2018.

ELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATION: ONLY PERSONS WHO ARE SIX YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE UNITED STATES.  DO NOT PROCEED FURTHER IF YOU ARE NOT LOCATED IN THE ELIGIBILITY AREA OR DO NOT MEET THE AGE REQUIREMENTS.

HOW TO PARTICIAPTE: There is no fee to participate in the Illinois Bicentennial Passport Program. Passports are available at all 56 Passport stops.  There is no purchase necessary to receive a Passport or Passport stamps at Illinois Bicentennial Passport stops.

PRIZES: Participants who collect a minimum of 20 Illinois Bicentennial Passport stamps from 20 Passport stops are eligible to receive a Level One (1) prize. Participants who collect a minimum of 35 Illinois Bicentennial Passport stamps from Passport stops are eligible for Level One (1) and Level Two (2) prizes.  Participants who collect all 56 Illinois Bicentennial Passport Stamps from Passport stops are eligible for Level One (1), Level Two (2), Level Three (3) Prizes and will have their name, city and state published on the Illinois Bicentennial website, www.Illinois200.com as an Illinois Bicentennial Passport All Star.

PRIZE REDEMPTION: To redeem prizes, participant Passports with a minimum of 20 collected Passport stamps from 20 Passport stops, must be mailed and postmarked by December 3, 2018 to the following address: CANAL CORRIDOR ASSOCIATION, 754 FIRST STREET, LASALLE, ILLINOIS 61301.   Prizes will be mailed to eligible participants within 30 days of Passport receipt by the Canal Corridor Association.  To inquire about prize eligibility or prize delivery, participates may contact the Canal Corridor Association at (815) 220-1848.

All participants agree to abide by these Official Rules. Robin Malpass & Associates is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, illegible, postage due, misdirected or mutilated mail; which may limit an entrant’s ability to participate in the prize redemption.

The Passport Program is subject to all federal, state and local laws, and is void where prohibited by law.  Robin Malpass & Associates reserves the right to modify the Official Rules of the Passport Program in any way or at any time.  This Passport Program shall be governed by Illinois law.  By participating in the Passport Program, participants agree that Illinois courts shall have jurisdiction over any dispute or litigation arising from or relating to this Passport Program.

VALIDITY AND ELIGIBILITY OF PARTICIPANTS: Sponsor shall be the sole judge of the validity and eligibility of all Participants.  Entries generated by script, macro or other automated or mechanical means are void. Entries which have been or appear to be tampered with are void. All entries must be made no later than 6:00 p.m. CT on the Sweepstakes End Date.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: The Released Parties (defined below under “RELEASE OF LIAIBLITY”) are not responsible for: (1) Participant Passports which are stolen, lost, damaged, or illegible (2) Participant Passports that have been or may have been tampered with or in violation of these Official Rules; (3) Participant Passports which are lost, late, incomplete, or undelivered (4) any other errors of any kind, whether human, typographical, printing, mechanical, or electronic in nature, which relate to or are connected with the Illinois Bicentennial Passport Program, including without limitation, Errors in Passport-related materials or in the administration of the Prize Redemption, such as Errors in processing Participant Passports, or announcing or delivering Prizes; or (6) any injury or damage to any person’s computer equipment related to or resulting from participation in the Passport Program, the use of any website associated with the Passport Program, or the downloading of any materials from such website(s). Anyone who tampers with or abuses any aspect of the Passport Program or associated website, as determined in Sponsor’s sole judgment, will be disqualified from participation in the Illinois Passport Program Prize Redemption and if applicable, will be deemed to have forfeited all claims to any Prize.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY: By participating in the Illinois Bicentennial Passport Program, participants, agree that Robin Malpass & Associates, and participating Sponsors and Sponsor’s designees and affiliates, including each of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, owners, partners, and advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, shareholders, members, consultants and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by participants against, any liability for injuries, losses, costs, expenses or damages of any kind, including damages for death, personal injury, property damage or property loss, resulting from, whether in whole or in part or directly or indirectly, participation in the Illinois Bicentennial Passport Program or the acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any Passport or Prize.

PUBLICITY RELEASE: Each eligible Illinois Bicentennial Passport Participant by accepting his/her Prize, grants Sponsor and Sponsor’s designees and affiliates, full permission, except where legally prohibited, to use the participant’s name, address (city and state only), photograph, voice and/or other likeness and Prize information for advertising, trade and promotional purposes without further compensation and without notice, review or approval, in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide, and on the Internet and world wide web, in perpetuity.

COPYRIGHT: All Illinois Bicentennial Passport Program materials are copyrighted by the Canal Corridor Association and may not be copied, reproduced or used for any purpose without express prior written consent. Illinois Bicentennial trademarks are subject to Illinois Bicentennial Terms of Use.

GOVERNING LAW; SEVERABILITY: The Illinois Bicentennial Passport Program and these Official Rules shall be subject to and governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. If a court of competent jurisdiction finds that any provision of these Official Rules, or their application to a particular persons or circumstances, is invalid or unenforceable to any extent, then the remainder of these Official Rules, and the application of all of these Official Rules to other persons or circumstances, shall not be affected by that determination, and shall remain enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
